As a child I remember the following
1) Watching Santa Claus The Movie every Xmas eve with my brother before bed.
I still do this now and will do so with Bubba it makes me feel like a kid again waiting for Santa to come
2) Having a Santa sack and stocking
We all have a stocking and Bubba has a Santa sack and this will continue each year only with mince pies and milk for Santa and carrots for the reindeer
3) Boxing day having a family get together at my aunty's
I'd like to make sure I do something like this each year as to me Christmas is all about family, even though the beloveds family tradition is get drunk!
4) Having a crotchet blanket on each bed and it being the ultimate comfort when Ill or heartbroken.
I've recently taken up making these as I want bubba to having something that he associates with home at any age. Even if his daddy thinks I've turned old before my time and now refers to me as Grandama!
5) Family film time
This is a must for us we love films and before bubba we'd spend Weekends on the sofa with good films and a duvet.
6) Trips to seaside with dads music. Every time I hear fleet wood mac I'm instantly taken back
Bubba has no choice his dad will make him listen to rubbish whilst I educate him on finer tastes.
I also will start the tradition of a Sunday dinner every week. We didn't really have this growing up and you can't beat the smell of meat roasting in the oven while you watch Disney films or dance around to the stereo. Correction I Pod!
"There is no doubt that it is around the family and the home that all the greatest virtues, the most dominating virtues of human society, are created, strengthened and maintained”
Quote by Winston Churchill
